Illinois State and Missouri State are still the favorites. ISU is loaded!
Will be the typical Muller team of long athletic players but Fayne will be surrounded
by legitimate dead eye shooters.

Who's left?

Gone are:
Teddy Hawkins
Paris Lee
Tony Wills
Mikyle McIntosh
DJ Clayton

Between that group you are losing
52 of the 69 PPG scored (75%) (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and 6th leading scorers)
83 of the 171 blocks (49%)
375 of the 425 assists (89%)
23 of the 36 rebounds per game (64%)
294 of the 394 FT made (75%)
408 of the 593 FT shot (69%)
238 of the 294 3PM (81%)
628 of the 797 3PA (79%)
620 of the 865 FGM (72%)
1,450 OF THE 1,972 FGA (74%)
4,642 of the 7,025 minutes played (67%)
136 out of the 175 starts (78%)
That equates out to 68% of the production from last year gone.

Of the top 8 players from last season just 3 return - and one has had labrum surgery - and just 1 starter
Keyshawn Evans
Phil Fayne
David Ndiaye

What sharp shooters? Those that are left

Phil Fayne - 0-0
Keyshawn Evans 70-176 for 38%
David Ndiaye 0-0
Madison Williams 1-19 for 5.3%
Andrew Washington 0-0
Javaka Thompson 1-7 1.4%
Matt Hein 1-4 25%

Did Muller sign the Golden Stat Warriors that they all of a sudden have a roster full of sharp shooters? Muller has a significantly less talented roster, and he still isn't a good X and O coach. To pick them as a favorite is lazy voting based on homerism or last season.

Their backup players are nice and he new additions are nice too. Plus, Dan Muller. I don't think they'll win 27 games again. Maybe 22/23. Only other team with that capability is Missouri State, possibly Loyola if they're lucky, and I'll never count out UNI. Missouri state has all the potential in the world but will Lusk take a step forward? Illinois State is in a group of only four who could truly take it. Granted, it's up for debate. There is no clear cut front runner but to say illinois state shouldn't be getting votes for the top spot is ridiculous.

I would have picked ISUr until their latest defection[s]. I think they still will be decent, but that's a lot of moving parts to get on the same page . I looked at Murray's roster earlier and also thought they could be a top 5 club . I think SIU will be better than most think; Barry has enough talent to keep his team competitive. I liked what I saw from Bradley and their coach last year and will be interested in seeing how much they move forward this year. I am not impressed with UNI's roster, but have learned not to bet against Jake finding ways to be better than they look; how much he will be able to do though is always speculative for me. I like the LOC team, but like us, I don't have much confidence in their coach. We may have assembled enough talent to overcome Lusk on most nights, but I never underestimate his ability to snatch defeat from seemingly sure fire victory.

I'll withhold a prediction though until we see who actually the league is.

Because all of those sub-.500 teams were so convincing last year?

Maybe you didn't realize that we have 7 new players coming in.
You will know these names soon enough:
Milk Yarbrough - Transfer Former A10 Freshman of the Year (Mikyle lite)
Christian Romine - Transfer UTEP 6-9 athletic post
Zach Copeland - Cali JuCo Player of the Year (Sharpshooter)
William Tinsley -another JuCo sharpshooter
Taylor Bruninga- 6-9 35ppg sharpshooter
Trace Young - 6-8 Fayne clone
And last but not least
Elijah Clarance Program changing PG. Probably best Müller recruit ever.
Think Wes W. but a better shooter

It's not about who we had.... it's who we will have this fall!

I have a hard time picking a team that was under .500 to be the favorite.

1. ISU
2. UNI
3. Valpo
4. SIU
5. MSU
6. Loyola
7. Murray State
8. Evansville
9. Indiana State
10. Bradley
11. Drake

LOL Bradley #10. Only an ISUr fan could pull that off, but it's all good -- I do agree ISUr is number one.

Yarbrough was a big one but...

Romine is a transfer from UTEP, not New Mexico, where he averaged 0.9 PPG.

Trace Young? Where does it say he committed to ISU?

Why? They had the third least overall wins and fourth least conference wins. They haven't done well consistently in years.

Still don't see where it says he committed. Not saying it didn't happen but it's not at your link.

You are correct on Romine -UTEP. He won't start but good post backup.

Young was just offered not signed yet. Fits HCDM profile though... tall
Athletic, Left handed.

Key players are Yarbrough, Clarance and Copeland.
