Can the rest of the mvc fans do Valpo a favor when playing any HL team. Get the MVC chant going just like the SEC does in football.

In theory, good. In reality, not many of us give a crap about the Horizon League to try and insult them.

Hmm....... Maybe we should take Milwaukee for the 2018 season after all. :D

But in all honesty Valpo should just pay them the $500K and be done with them. Murray State planned (plans) on paying their exit fee to the OVC, so I don't see why Valpo can't just pay theirs. It's a little ridiculous to suggest that only IUPUI and Northern KY are the only ones subject to the 500K fee.

Nope, if VU challenges it, Valpo most likely won't have to pay the full amount.

Probably based on the thought that the two sides will try and reach a settlement rather than go through the cost of court proceedings. The settlement likely won't be the full amount, but it also won't be 0. The suit against the MVC likely gets dropped as well.

Well this article offers a much more clear picture into the situation of the Horizon League suing the Valpo & the MVC. Give it a read.

Valparaiso's PR should have been on top of this and took control of the "narrative" that the Horizon League tried to spin.

Essentially Valparaiso enter the Horizon League on different contractual agreement and was renewing its contract with the HL on the original agreement separate from the other members. The Horizon League also was very misleading in the accusation that Valparaiso's President was the one pushing for the exit-fee change.

Also some new information came out that the Horizon League may actually contractually owe Valparaiso University money as part of Valparaiso "equity buy-in fee which was different from every other members. Valparaiso's PR should have been on top of this gave more information initially.
