Nice thought, but what exactly gives you the idea that the MVC leadership would be that "bold?" They've never shown anything even remotely close to thinking ahead like that.

That would require the MVC to be proactive and not just reactive. It would also require the MVC presidents to give up an additional split (or two) of any revenue. Seemed like staying at 10 was pretty key here

Yep. This is all on the elite private school presidents.
Come on.
The Valley just added the best basketball option out there. I guess I don't understand the angst. I'm not too concerned with JV football driving decisions of the MVC.

The last three additions to the Valley have been Evansville, Loyola, Valparaiso. See a pattern? Might as well go back to having the conference tournament rotate among campus sites, St. Louis without Wichita is going to be barren. Replacing Creighton's fan base with half a dozen students with scarves did nothing for the tourney, Wichita brought nearly as many fans to St. Louis as Valpo can fit in their home arena.

From Bloomington Pantagraph reporter Jim Benson:
Missouri State president Clif Smart wrote on Twitter: “The (MVC) expansion committee will continue to meet for the next 9 months to evaluate further expansion opportunities.”
Illinois State athletic director Larry Lyons confirmed “this is not the end of the discussion for membership.”
“They (the expansion committee) will look down the road to see if other folks can help us in the future,” he said.
Lyons added the process of the league in the last month, which involved school presidents, faculty representatives, athletic directors and senior women's administrators, was “thoughtful and thorough.”
I think a 12 school league is on the table, school #11 is know (Murray State). Unknown, school #12.

I am not as convinced they added the best basketball option even of the 4 that had visits.
