Goal #1: Become Multi-Bid Conf. Again

Goal #1 must be to become a multi-bid conference again. How do we best accomplish that with the current membership?

Every team needs to step up its recruiting and scheduling game. That's the bottoom line.

The best additions the Valley could add are teams already in the conference getting better.

Agreed Tribe! The Shockers domination forced everyone to recruit higher.
MSU, ISUr and Loyola are already seeing results and Bradley will be right their with them soon.

Now we all need to schedule like the Shockers too! UNI is the only one with a consistently strong non-con.
That has to change!

Really it's all scheduling; you can't be a tournament worthy team w/o a tournament worthy schedule. Otherwise you're just one of 10 teams hoping to be hot for 3 days in STL. All the other stuff is inconsequential until the schedules are consistently upgraded. Then you can worry about actually winning those games and is the collective talent level sufficient to win enough of those games to be in the hunt. Frankly I don't think we can schedule consistently good enough to really move the needle much; but that's the ticket and that's where you have to start. I know I'm already going to be disappointed in the Bear's schedule this year because we have a coach under fire and an AD under heat for sticking with him so just like we've seen from UE 2 years ago and ISUr last year, what should be one of the Valleys better teams probably won't have done what it needed to do with their schedule. That has to stop.

Equating UE's schedule from two years ago and ISUr's schedule from last year is crazy. ISUr had a solid nonconference schedule. Maybe you can say they should have done more, but that is far easier said than done. The rest of the league will need to get better so they aren't as much of a drag on the top teams.

You have teams like Loyola playing D3 schools to inflate their record and those wins don't do anything to the RPI.

All teams must play at-least two buy games, play in the MWC/MVC showdown, and play in two home and homes with another comparable mid-major.

Also increase the bare minimum for school operating budgets.

The secret is for the programs to field good teams.

Schedule helps (a lot), but it's funny how being good solves all the problems.

You're kind of obsessed with Loyola. We must have some permanent real estate in your head. How will you cope next year if we win the MVC?

Been to Chicago before, not a big fan of it. People were rude and superficial. Which I think Loyola is full of.

Ha, never heard that complaint about Chicago before--usually thought of as a big city with Midwestern values/manners. If you thought Chicagoans were rude, you'd last about 5 minutes in NYC before breaking down. But glad you base your feelings towards Loyola on some interactions you had with residents of the city in which it happens to be located. I once dated a gal from Peoria who turned out to be quite the little hussy. BRADLEY SUCKS!
