ISUr projected starters next year:

PG: Evans JR
SG: Copeland JR - JC Transfer
WG: Yarbrough RSJR - Sat out last year
PF: Fayne JR
C: Ndiaye JR

ISUr will be starting 5 Juniors unless Clarance cracks the lineup right from the start.
They also will start 4 players who were on the team last year. Not sure why you think
it will be all freshman/transfers!

Evans - 19mpg, 5.8 ppg, 2APG 50% FT%, 38% FG%, 38% 3%
Copeland - no D1 experience, no different than a red-shirt player
Yarbrough - redshirt
Fayne - 24 mpg, 9 PPG, 6 RPG, 55% FT%
Ndiaye - 15 MPG, 1.8 PPG, 3 RPG, 42% FG%, 66% FT%

Sounds like a killer starting 5. Based on that I can see why they are going to run through the league again. There is a whole 17 points coming back, one guy who has never played D1 ball and a transfer that averaged 7.7 points per game at his old school.

It'll be fun beating you next season. Muller is a genius.

Yarbrough actually avg. 9.0 points per game for his total career at SLU.
Funny thing is that is higher than any returning Panther other than Bennett Koch!

uniftw - you hardly have a leg to stand on in this argument as your trend line is not exactly pointing up currently either.

These Redbird fans might be overly optimistic for an upcoming season full of uncertainty, but it appears you are too.

UNI fans are riding the hope that Carlson returns to form and Koch stays out of foul trouble. But, more importantly that you have competency in the backcourt to facilitate an offense who lost their leader last season.

The argument in mid-major power RIGHT NOW for 2017-2018 in this conference begins and ends with Missouri State (until you are reminded of their coach).

I don't think they'll become a power but SIU is really being overlooked next season.

No point trying to win a pissing match with a guy who thought UNI football was going to win the national title last year.

He hates all things ISU and refuses to give credit to any Redbird team.

It should always be noted that Grand Canyon is a for-profit concern, like Trump University, DeVry, and the Cosmetology and Car Repair College down the street. There will not be money spent on academic research unless it has an ROI that passes muster from the accountants that disseminate the money received from their New York Stock Exchange funding. (Here is their latest stock price. Right now, they have a market cap of $3.7 billion. They might be able to buy buy every school in the league.)

Some people might be comfortable with that. But I think the independent, non-profit status of our higher education model, coupled with a crosshatch of state-financed schools, is what has made American higher education the greatest higher education system in world history-- more accessible than the German Universities that declined under Hitler's sociological and ideological purges, more practical and less class dependent than Oxford and Cambridge, and more vital and widespread than the higher education in the Roman Empire or Middle Ages.

But if you think that the 240-year experiment of American Democracy should be sold off and replaced with "running the country like a business!!", then we're already mostly to a for-profit system of higher education, as well. Let's get the Fire Departments and Police Departments and Health Departments and Coroners and the Centers for Disease Control and the EPA set up on a for-profit model, too.

What does that have anything to do with this thread? We all know they are for profit. Doesn't change the fact that they are clearly one of the top 5 to to become the next Gonzaga, Wichita state, Butler, VCU.

Clearly? Let's wait until they finish with better than a 131 RPI and start making the Tournament before we annoint them the next Gonzaga. Two of their recruits for next year are 2 stars, and the other is 3 star. Majerle needs to beat NMSU first.

Fair enough. Not enough has been proven. This will be their first season eligible for postseason play. But, the recipe for success is there. Also, those level of prospects are the same Illinois State has coming in this season. And, they're doing it as a low major. Eventually they'll force their way into the mid-major category and the lure or an ex-NBAer as coach, in a beautiful city/climate, with an amazing playing atmosphere will bring in even better prospects. I realize they have a lot of money so its easier for them to do, a la Wichita State, but it also takes a program being managed well and they are managing that program well.
