These are primary State universities with major fan support, not directionals and small privates. These schools have fully funded athletic departments with FCOA, they are not one sport wonders. They can challenge P5 schools regularly, pick your sport. Yet the MVC seems more threatened by this than recognizing this as a significant opportunity.

Grand Canyon, no debate.

That's a long trip by bus!

They'll have to leave on wednesday for a Saturday game. Seriously, though...if they are concerned about making the mvc a top flight mid-major conference (6-8) the schools will pay the extra $25,000 (all sports included) per year for a trip to phoenix because they'll make a lot more in return with regular multiple bids.

The school that really has to pay more is gcu making multiple cross country trips. But, they have the money to do it and already do it in their conference that features Kansas City, chicago, and Seattle. Sure, they'll spend even more now but, like I said, they can afford it and I'm sure they'd happily jump at the opportunity. To the other 11 schools it's just $25,000 more per year. They can afford it.
