These are primary State universities with major fan support, not directionals and small privates. These schools have fully funded athletic departments with FCOA, they are not one sport wonders. They can challenge P5 schools regularly, pick your sport. Yet the MVC seems more threatened by this than recognizing this as a significant opportunity.

Grand Canyon, no debate.

Just because you make the NCAA tournament every so often, doesn't mean that you are prepared to be the next Mid-Major power. Budget doesn't mean a thing, as evidenced by the fact that the University of Texas has one of the highest budgets for just about all sports, but their Basketball program only has glimpses of greatness every 5-10 years.

Now compare their attendance and budgets.

Budget does mean things, it just doesn't mean everything.

There is no appeal to adding the Dakotas.

No in-state talent which means you guys would have to recruit against coaches in this league for the same players.

MTSU has been good. St. Mary's has been mostly good for about a decade. But, who will take that next step to be with Gonzaga, Butler, Xavier, Dayton, VCU, and Wichita State? I still say Grand Canyon.

Serious question, do you have a vested interest in Grand Canyon?

I think you need to change your screen name to Jsnhbe1Canyon
