The other 1000 seats are expansion seating. I agree they could have done better but technically they aren't wrong.

Not sure where you are getting the 320K, the media guide has it at 315K, and the actual is 358K+. Not sure of your idea of not being far off, but missing the factual number by nearly 45K is a little more than not far off, especially considering it is just one of ten schools. If others are off this much, it can be a real issue. This is the media guide, and the information used to sell the conference to potential broadcasters and advertisers. Not to mention that it appears the Evansville and Owensboro MSA's are going to be combined, which brings the number closer to 500K.

I haven't taken the time to look at the other schools, but I am certain there are more errors as well.

Sorry, but if a casual fan can do a 5 second google search and get the factual information, I would expect the professional whose job it is to sell the conference and generate revenue, to take the time to print factual information, especially when it is in the conferences favor.

Took me less than 20 seconds with Google to find this. It depend upon what site they reference. "A beautiful city to live in, Evansville IN has almost 120,000 residents and the greater Metropolitan area houses over 358,000 people".

Wondering why they listed the statistical area population for everyone but Valparaiso? Valparaiso is in the Northwest Indiana Region comprised of Lake, Porter, LaPorte, Newton and Jasper counties in Indiana. This region neighbors Lake Michigan and is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. According to the 2010 Census, Northwest Indiana has a population of 819,537 and is the state's second largest urban area after the Indianapolis Metropolitan Area.

Bureau of Economic Analysis (Department of Commerce) lists Evansville as 315 and change in 2015.

I would guess any discrepancy is how many surrounding counties are included. The 315k number is statistically correct.

I was wondering about the Cedar Falls/Waterloo at 170+ considering CF is 40k and Waterloo is about 68k. Turns out according to Wikipedia the metro consists of 3 counties in the area. So I guess it is accurate.
