most likely it'll be IPFW as they announced the new school will have baseball and IPFW has baseball and is in the Horizon footprint.

Then next year add IUPUI and one other school

should be interesting, expect IPFW to be announced today or tomorrow as they'd need to switch by July 1st if they're going to the Horizon in 17-18.

Then if IUPUI is added in 18-19 that would bring the SL to 8 teams as I think North Dakota joins in 2018. And they will have just 5 baseball schools

Does that open the door for Oral Roberts to come to the MVC for baseball only? Would be a good addition for MVC baseball

I live in Fort Wayne and haven't heard any rumors about IPFW switching leagues. Now, it wouldn't surprise me. I might have to check with my contacts at the university to see if they know anything.

Detroit News is reporting that an invitation has been extended to a baseball playing school and the decision could be announced in the next 2 to 3 weeks. As the article states, that rules out IUPUI and Robert Morris. The other possibilities mentioned were Grand Canyon and SIU-Edwardsville (not likely).

I have confirmation from a reliable source that Murray State has accepted an invite to the Horizon League for 2017-18. IPFW also met with the league but did not get an invite for this season; however, will be joining the HL in 2018-19 likely with IUPUI.
