When you look at it that way were talking about a $500,000 buy out because I'm sure buying out two games is around $250,000 a piece considering buy games get $500,000 for the visiting school. That's actually more than Marshall. At the very worst its even to Marshall. I guess it makes sense then.

$250k+ payouts for buy games are extremely rare. Most range between $75k-$100k. Plus, a home/home isn't a buy game. So there really isn't a comparison. NC State bought out one game of a 2-for-1 with Loyola this summer. The closest thing I could find was a reddit post saying NCSU paid $175k. But there was a signed contract where games had already been played. This is just a promise to agree to play, so I can't see it being that much.

That said, if there is a buyout clause for those games, I wouldn't be surprised if it's north of $100k, but less than $200k.

VCU had it in both Smart and Wade's contract that it was either a H/H series or $250k. The H/H series really just serves as a reduction of the total buyout, so it wouldn't necessarily reflect a buyout of regular H/H series.

Jacobson knows what he wants and is willing to give up something (large buyout) but he still gets what he wants. Marshall and Muller are willing to listen to any suitors that come along and as far as Marshall goes, he doesn't really have a dream job he's had had his eyes set on forever.

2 schools that he has to name by Jan 1st of each year. The buyout on those schools is still $1,000,000

The home-home thing is great. It's like built in awkwardness. We kinda had that at UNI when GMcD went to Creighton (via Iowa State)

That was made significantly worse than it would have already been by him doing what he did to UNI at the same time.

UNI was used to H/H with Mc$. His first year at Iowa State they played AT UNI. It was the first year of the McLeod Center - which he was a major part of getting built. UNI didn't play that game in the McLeod. They weren't going to let him coach in it that soon. They played a couple home games in the McLeod and moved the court back to the dome for that one. He lost that one. Greg wasn't real successful against UNI - especially in Cedar Falls.

He was 5-6 in 7 years at Iowa State and Creighton in the MVC.
He was 1-4 in games in Cedar Falls. The one win was came in 2008, his third year at ISU. He was 0-3 as sCUm HC.
He was 4-2 in games played at his home location/St Louis

Totally irrelevant to the conversation and don't need to turn into a UNI thing. We were on home and homes with Iowa State when he left, had nothing to do with a buy-out. Creighton was obviously in the league so no control on schedule there either-and Mac didn't leave us for them directly anyways. Doubt we would have scheduled a Mac team if we hadn't already been contracted or obligated by league rules-Jake and Mac hate playing each other (note we haven't suddenly added Creighton to the schedule since they left). And playing in the Dome the first year was more of a temper tantrum by the AD towards how Mac left, though Jake made a nice gesture to present Mac and the staff members he took with their NCAA watches before the game.
