We are starting our poll a little later this year and will move a bit more quickly, but you know what it means when the polling starts - it's nearly time for the 2017-18 Missouri Valley Conference men's basketball season. This is the 8th year of our site and, as always, we begin with our preseason user vote to rank the MVC teams. We will work in reverse order, predicting the 10th place finisher this week and concluding with the predicted MVC champion chosen by our users between the last two teams remaining in week 9. Following the team rankings, we will vote on the individual awards and compare them to the media selections.

Evansville is just going to be God awful. Like 8-22 awful.

Like the Aces program, but UE should be a slam dunk for the #10 spot in this season's MVC.

I think there will be a lot of parity and ties, 10th place included.

I'll vote Evansville for 10th in RPI - but with the hope they'll revive their old logo and hire a new coach to signify a new era next year.

I changed my vote 7 times before hitting vote on Drake.

I think I want to change again, but I'm not sure

2...the last 2 years

They do a "good job" fighting for that 7-8 spot as much as anything. They are consistently bad, which makes them the worst program in the conference. The consistently really bad thing is what makes it seem like they are 10th every year.

08/09 - 8th
09/10 - 8th
10/11 - 7th
11/12 - 7th
12/13 - 9th
13/14 - 8th
14/15 - 7th
15/16 - 10th

And to be honest, what's the difference between 7th and 10?
