Each week we will open a poll for users to predict the end of season finish for the MVC 2017-18 basketball season. We will work in reverse order, concluding with the predicted MVC champion chosen by our users between the last two teams remaining in week 9.

Honestly, here on in for me it's a crap shoot. I went with Illinois State because of the lack of established returning scorers . I think they still have talent, but generally the league rewards rosters with experienced quality over young talent. Muller's done a nice job, but his progress has been tied to the progress of a group of kids who grew up together in his program and have now departed for the most part. Won't surprise me if they do better than this, and suspect they will be playing with any of the other teams by MVC tourney time, but think it may take a bit to get there.

I went with Northern Iowa here. Lost their leader in 5 statistical categories and the last time I checked, a coach does not play the games.

If Koch can play more than 20 minutes per game (his average last season) and Carlson can vastly improve from his slump 2016-2017 campaign, then they will finish higher than this, but no Morgan from a rather shi**y team last year, I don't see them getting much better. without Morgan and Ashton.

You could pick any of the five, and say that they could finish higher than that. I took Southern because I can't see NIU finishing fifth because of their defense, and I just think the other three are better.

Well that's a guaranteed two wins for at least 7 teams in the league.

I went SIU. I just think they're really going to miss Rodriguez and O'Brien.

Could definitely finish higher if the new guys gel quickly.

Pa, I doubt he was including the Aces in his 7.
