Each week we will open a poll for users to predict the end of season finish for the MVC 2017-18 basketball season. We will work in reverse order, concluding with the predicted MVC champion chosen by our users between the last two teams remaining in week 9.

9th Place - Drake
8th Place - Indiana State
7th Place - Bradley
6th Place - Valparaiso
5th Place - Illinois State

In looking at these four remaining choices, I went with UNI. Last season was their worst season overall and tied for their worst conference record since 2002-03, and they lost Jeremy Morgan without any significant or prominent recruits.

Many think UNI will win it all because the Valley is so weak, apparently. I disagree. I have UNI sixth in my predictions. But, who knows.

It's an extremely hard year to project; teams with most talent have suspect coaching, teams with great coaching have less established players. Other teams have a mix of both. I think the three teams with the best rosters are MSU/LOC/SIU, but I've always thought the Valley was a guard and coach league, so who knows. I picked UNI 4th and so I am really down to two of the above, but really can't get a positive feel for either of them winning it. But I'll have to pick someone soon.
