Each week we will open a poll for users to predict the end of season finish for the MVC 2017-18 basketball season. We will work in reverse order, concluding with the predicted MVC champion chosen by our users between the last two teams remaining in week 9.

Northern Iowa was selected as the 3rd place finisher (results: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4801 )

Week 9 - Who will finish in 1st place during the 2017-18 MVC mens basketball season?
- You are choosing the team that you believe will win the MVC regular season title. Poll open until Sunday, October 29.

These polls have made me realize I don’t feel comfortable picking anyone to win the conference. Moser>Lusk as it stands though.

I think if they hadn't been eliminated already, I would have gone with SIU; I couldn't really come up with a strong feeling for any of the final 4 [MSU/SIU/LOC/UNI], as each have discomforting aspects. But faced with this final choice and having spent way too much time watching Lusk coach, I will root for the Bears but picked LOC.

Yep...my thoughts exactly, if there was ever a wide open race, this is going to be it.

Lusk is the sole reason I have chosen MSU at every spot. I ain't getting my hopes up.

I went with MSU. I think our talent is quite a bit better than Loyola. I have very little confidence in that though.

No way he forgets about Alize on the bench this year, right? Maybe just never take him out of the game. Problem solved!

You have to pick the Bears based on Talent AND experience. The problem is, experience tells me the Bears won't finish higher than 4th with Lusk coaching.

Kind of mind boggling in that MSU is picked by the board to win despite probably half of the MSU posters not picking them. Now we're talking small numbers [ probably 6 posters or so] but interesting. For the record, and I certainly would not wager on this at all, my order was [ not my vote because I had to pick LOC after SIU was eliminated]:

SIU
MSU
LOC
UNI
ISUr
Valpo
BU
ISUb
DU
UE

Now given the top three teams have coaches that can be very suspect at times, given you have variables like a young BU team with a good coach and a consistent program like Valpo in the mix, throw in UNI and then don't you know this is the year Lansing finds a way to win close games , and well hell , it's a mess.
