Bulldogs win 101-54. Against Coe College. Hope they hit some threes against Wake Forest.

JT Miller had 14 pts and 8 rebounds for the Bears and Reggie Scurry had 12 pts and 5 rebounds in their debuts. With all the foul trouble they were VERY big.

Birds lost. But, the offense is much improved. Just missing a presence down low as fgcu drove at will. I'm sure Muller can fix that by late December. Definitely a team that can compete for the title.

Going to be a fun season in the valley. Lots of quality teams.

Stipanovich only played 8 mins but had 6 points and 2 boards a assist and a steal.

I doubt that Indiana St has a chance against the Hoosiers.
Just a chance ;)
I'll say. Props to the Sycs on that huge win to open the season! I am extremely proud of this conference as a whole after 2 nights!

Bol is out another 5 weeks recovering from a meniscus tear, Bartley has a broken bone in his hand and Fletcher dislocated his knee :o in practice two days ago--Fletcher is game time whether he plays but I doubt he gets to. We're down to 8 players for this game--

Maybe those guys were dead weight.

 Thik Bol is "dead weight"--good one! Though I do wonder how it will go down when Bol returns--Pippen had 15 pts/10 rebounds/ three blocks/2 assists and two steals, so it doesn't seem wise to take him out of the line-up

oh, and SIU beat Winthrop 81-66 and held the Eagles to 30% from the field in second half. I'm not sure how good Winthrop is--besides Xavier Cooks. But it was an away game, which are always tough especially when a team is down three players and had their flight delayed 5 hours, and didn't get a pre-game practice. Well at least usual 8-12 SIU guys will get D-1 experience PT for the next 10 games. I think everyone will be available by start of Valley play

Fletcher started and played 29 minutes; also while Bartley was the early season scheduled starter, I really wasn't impressed with him at SLU and I think it was a case of the veteran holding the spot until McGill the more talented juco took over. It may hurt SIU's depth a bit with him out, but they have Cook and McGil at pg, both whom I think are better than Bartley down the road. Bol being out though is significant.

He was in some pain and probably will have to deal with what seems like a chronic condition (like a players shoulder dislocation keeps re-occuring)---you could see him avoiding exploding off the floor for rebounds.Hinson said playing him will not make the condition worse.
