If Illinois State Bradley and Drake can all walk out of their tournaments 2-1 with 2P5 wins and the only losses being a one point loss to Vermont a close loss to Colorado and a loss to what appears to be a very good Boise State team I would consider that a job well done by them this week. Congratulations to them they have represented the MVC very well. Keep it up guys! Very impressed but not surprised by the Valley's performance so far. Hopefully my Crusaders can do our part and continue delivering wins. Very important stretch coming up in our schedule where we'll learn a lot about our team. Hope we can do our new conference proud. Go Crusaders! And go MVC!

Bulldogs hold on and win 90-88 in double OT. Led by 14 late in first half and led for 99% of the game, but Drexel scored the last 7 points of regulation.

With 5 seconds left in double OT, Drake led 90-88 and De'Tae McMurray at the line shooting 2. He missed both, but then stole the ball to preserve the victory.

McMurray scored 23 to lead 6 Bulldogs in double figures.

If you had told me that Drake would shoot less than 40%, including 6-22 from 3-point range and get outrebounded, I never would have believed they would win.

BU! 4 and 1 . No Van Bre or Bar today. Child’s is a real FR of the yr candidate. I’m excited to see how quick Carver fills up.

These early games sure haven't cleared much up for season conference standings projections.

Nope....but I think the MVC is doing better than expected.

Kenpom just tweeted that he now has MVC ahead of A-10 and said it's his favorite story of year so far

And knock-knock-knockin on the Mountain West's door.

If we can take down the American (which is a long, long shot), I'll donate $100 to the WSU SASO fund. In the spirit of Christmas - and tax deductions. :buddies:

3 MVC schools in the top 100 7 in the top 130 8 in the top 150 and all 10 MVC schools are in the KenPom top 200 right now. Not too shabby for a conference many had pronounced dead with the departure of Wichita State and whose highest ranked team in the metric is 90. May we all continue to climb higher and prove how badly underestimated this conference was. Go MVC!

The lowest rated MVC school (Drake) is higher rated than 2 A10 (Fordham Duquesne) schools 2 AAC (East Carolina South Florida) Schools 1MWC school (San Jose St) and 1 P5 (Washington St).

Excellent day/night for the Valley at 5-1 (and oooo sooo close on that Trees game), so that's 23-9 vs. D1 teams. Loving the roll that the MVC teams are on this season, and the more teams keep winning....the more the Valley is going be MOVIN' ON UP

Looking forward to seeing the Bears bounce back with a W against Georgia Southern. Go get 'em Bears!

And.....KEEP IT ROCKIN' MVC!!

Single-elimination formats, yes. Bradley did win 2 at FGCU during the 2008 CBE classic, but those were just the 3 meaningless filler games in a pre-determined semifinal tourney.
