For reference....not that I'm advocating for any of these schools...

Distance from Evansville to NDSU (furthest distance in MVC) 770
GCU to ISUb 1,430

UNI did a similar stretch in 2015. It was brutal

11/28 @ North Dakota

Then
12/5 @ Richmond
12/8 @ George Mason
12/12 @ New Mexico

3 games
7 days
3 time zones
2,700 miles

A week and a half later UNI played an MTE in Hawaii. Also played a game in Des Moines in-between the UNM and Hawaii.

Between 11/28 and 12/25 UNI traveled 13,000 miles, played 9 games in 4 different time zones. UNI also played 2 of the first 3 conference games on the road as well that year - SIU and MSU - which pushed it to 14,500 miles in a month and a half.

The bottom line is that if you want to play good teams, you have to travel some. I would take UNI's schedule and travel any day over what other teams do in the OOC!!

Unfortunately, that travel and grind led to a fair amount of illness during the month of January and the team was a wreck. It wasn't until mid-February that it seemed like we were finally healthy and competing at a high level, by which time it was too late to really make an impact on the top spots in the standings....thank goodness for the Arch
