Most are happy with the schedule. You have to remember; we won't have Cooper Neese and Christian Williams during our non-con (both of whom many speculate will be starters or work their way into the starting rotation once eligibility starts).

Why won't ISU have Neese and Williams?

Per NCAA rules a transfer has to sit out a full year (2 semesters). They were enrolled at Iowa and Butler during the fall semester of 2017. So there ineligible status runs through spring 2018 and fall 2018 semesters; making them eligible once classes end in December 2018 (about the time conference starts).

Sounds like LU bought out of the previous tournament noted per his comments on Andy Katz podcast. Are now set for the Suncoast Classic. We will play Richmond in the first round then either Boston College or Wyoming (both on a neutral floor). Not jaw dropping but an improvement for sure; looks like we're replacing Ole Miss

Looks like the Aces will be playing Illinois on the road, Wyoming at home, Murray St. at home, and Xavier on the road. Gone are the days of the SWAC, Midway, and Oakland City. Exciting times in the River City.

None of this is official, but Pat Hickey the Aces beat writer for the local paper is tweeting that the Aces are good for a H/H with Miami (Ohio) on the road this year, and a H/H with Ball State, on the road this year. Also from what he calls a very good source, a buy game with Kentucky in 2019-2020.

Fwiw MVC postings on the scheduling board (some recent, some dated):

Drake
Looking to start multiple series. Need to get home series done first. Also looking to buy one game at 75k
Looking to start 3 series. 2 on the road and one at home.
Drake is offering a competitive guarantee for 2018-2019 season. Nov 13-17/ Dec 1st

Northern Iowa
Northern Iowa is looking to buy two games. Multiple December dates are available.
Northern Iowa is interested in looking at a triangle with two more like opponents. Prefer 75-125 RPI range.

Missouri St
Need to start a H/H series on the road and at home. Available dates Dec 5, 4, 6, 15, 16, 18.

Loyola
Loyola Chicago is looking for multiple games for the 2018-19 season. We have a handful of dates in November and December.

Illinois State
Illinois State looking for Home and Homes and we will start on the road. Available dates: 11/9 12/6 12/15 12/16

Bradley
Bradley is looking for a Top 75 RPI or best available opponent to start a H/H series in Peoria IL. We will be considered a Quadrant 1 game. Early November dates and late December available for dates.
Bradley will be a QUADRANT I matchup for any team playing at Bradley next season. NCAA now emphasizes Quadrant I games in Tournament Selection. QUADRANT I = Top 75 Road Game / Top 50 Neutral Game / Top 30 Home Game Bradley is looking for a Power 6 conference opponent to start a H/H series in Peoria.

Southern Illinois
SIU Salukis need 2 games. Willing to discuss any option (start series H/A / money game / H-H same year)

Evansville
4-team tournament at Evansville on 11/17 & 11/18 (UNC Asheville is in the field).
University of Evansville is in need of multiple series both home and on the road. We are looking for regional opponents (Bus Ride).

Nothing Valpo or ISUb.

Murray State lurkers
We are looking to buy 2 D1 games for a competitive guarantee.
We are looking for a big money guarantee and it must be regional. We lose our top two scorers and will have a lot of new guys.

Looks like that game @Xavier isn't a buy game but rather an unbracketed Maui Invitational game. Evansville is going to take part in the Maui on the Mainland portion meaning they're probably going to play some fairly weak teams. Oh well their schedule still represents a big improvement.

Bradley has been connected with the Rocky Mountain Challenge but I've heard precious little about that tournament and who it will feature. Can someone enlighten me? I'd like to see Bradley or Drake look into the Cancun Challenge (Penn State SMU Wright State) The tournament in Belfast Northern Ireland (only Buffalo committed so far) or even the Notre Dame MTE to at least get a shot at playing Notre Dame of course the tradeoff could be some pretty bad games but Notre Dame would be a good get for anyone's schedule.
