Turnout here in Rosemont is at minimum 1/3 Valpo fans. Would love this turnout in St Louis.

Khan4Cats wrote:I have no complaints about Bradley's schedule. They are a young team and still building. It would be foolish of Wardle to try and take on a highly challenging schedule. They are doing what they need to do-and that is win the games they have on their schedule.

No one expected an at-large candidacy out of the Braves, but they are setting themselves up nicely for W-L % in the non-conference, which makes them a solid team to play in conference. It's how the power conferences do it-have their middle to lower teams build gaudy non-conference schedules to give the illusion of top to bottom strength.

As it is they are looking like a solid middle of the conference team that can give the upper tier teams fits. Having that nice OOC record will mean a loss to the Braves in Peoria won't be as painful as if they had challenged themselves in the non-con and come into league play under .500. It's strategy that should be employed throughout the Valley-top teams schedule for possible at-larges, middle teams play solid but winnable games, re-building teams schedule light to rack up wins prior to conference.

I agree. Bradley did what it needed to do with the schedule for this group. Anyone who watches can clearly see how improved the team is. What does that mean in the MVC? Who knows.

But BU is going to be really hard to beat at home with the way it defends and shoots the three. Bradley is shooting 38% from three and holding teams to 26% from three. That's a pretty good recipe.

Ramblers injuries catching up after finals week. Down to 8 scholarship athletes healthy with Richardson Custer negron and shanks all out with a variety of injuries. Getting hammered early against milwaukee. Eugh.

Redbirds beat Ole Miss on the road in OT 101-97

Three starters fouled out in regulation. Played 5 guards out of necessity for the win. This team could be very tough once full strength!

Aces beat Austin Peay in overtime. With their two best players hurt, and finals week just over, they were hardly dominate, but did what they had to do to win.

I think that after today the MVC has pretty well clinched being a one bid league this season. And if we're being completely honest with ourselves we have been a one bid league for several years now. The only reason we weren't a one bid league most years is because Wichita State was so dominant and always seemed to lose in St Louis.

I think after Milwaukee's win today they definitely have to be the lead contender for that so called 12th spot. Murray State did well again today. Honestly if any school is going to "replace" Wichita it will probably be Murray State. They've had a lot of really good seasons down there and have been discussed a couple of times for an at large bid from the OVC.

I'm an XDSU guy, but I am fine with Milwaukee if it brings Murray State to the league. UWM spends $2.87M per year on BB which would put them near the top of the MVC. I'm not huge on UWM but they are very geographically friendly and seem like the best 12th option of anyone out there.

Excited for the MVC conference season to start though. I think it is probably Northern Iowa's to lose, but we'll see. I think everyone at least has a shot at the title this year and St Louis could be even more wild.
