The Summit will become a power league rivaling the MAC and MVC.

I'm not sure what is funnier about this sentence--the Summit being on par with the MVC or the MAC being considered a "power league."

Personally, I think it's about time someone created a power conference with schools from Montana, North and South Dakota, and Nebraska. You never know when Nebraska-Lincoln will be ready to leave the B1G.

Heck, maybe the B1G is thinking about expelling Nebraska and adding Syracuse just for the New York jollies. You never know.

The only schools that would have similar academics are Ill St ad Mo St, but those don’t have much STEM programs or research. The MVC is a very weak research and academic conference and that is why Murray St is assumed in.

Yes. This is what happens when your conference is composed of small privates and non-flagship publics. I would bet at least 90% the research dollars in Indiana go to Indiana, Purdue & Notre Dame, where there are plenty of graduate students to actually do the research. Comparatively no funding to the undergraduate focused institutions like Valpo, Evansville, or ISU Blue.

For example, UND leads the nation in aviation technology, including UAV tech and the 3D implementation of it. Harold Hamm, the billion shale oil company owner, was just on campus as our Geology and Geological Engneering school was named in his honor after he gave bucks

You made my point. The MVC doesn t know the meaning of elite. It's a league of former teacher colleges that got big heads over basketball. It doesn't know the meaning of real STEM departments.
