I would pick the bonus game, but I don’t know anything about either team. It would literally just be a guess.

It is starting to look more and more like holding home court is very important this year with all the parody. As of now, Home teams are 22-8. SIU, ISUr and ISUb have all won a game on the road, only to also have a home loss. Loyola has won 2 games on the road, but also has a home loss. Drake has 2 road wins, and have held home court, while MSU has one road victory and no home losses. Needless to say, the last three teams mentioned, who have proved they can win on the road and still hold serve at home are atop the conference. And it appears most of us have picked up on this trend since we all seem to be predicting the home teams in most games this week. This year is VERY exciting with all the parody. I know we are a 1 bid league, so it is very important to not have to play on Thursday and have to win 4 in a row. It is going to be a lot of fun as we work our way to Arch Madness.

Oops. Didn’t even realize that they were both ISU when I posted that. Illinois State was my pick.

Wow...what a wild ride in the Valley this past week with some terrific games. Onto this weeks winners:

Tue-
Panthers > DU...only because UNI needs one, and it's the Panthers defending home court

Wed-
Redbirds > BU...not at all confident in this pick as ISU has been madly uneven this season
Aces > ISU...complete toss-up, but going with UE to get the home court W
Ramblers > SIU...LUC seems to be hitting a nice groove right now, and the Ramblers could be in first place
Bears > VU...MSU should get the home W, and the Bears might very well be tied at the top after this one

Sat-
Sycamores > ISU-R...anyone's ballgame here, and it should be an excellent contest
Bulldogs > MSU...DU puts the bite on the Bears and climb back to the top of the MVC (for now)
Braves > UE...wouldn't surprise me in the least to see the Aces pull this one off and get the roadie

Sun-
Salukis > UNI...an old and at times heated rivalry and SIU is going to really want this one
Crusaders > LUC....going with the upset here as Valpo has started to show signs of righting the ship

Looks like Wednesday's games are the easiest to pick, but this MVC season...you just never know. Seems like it's going to be a continuous season-long wild ride across the entire hoops crazy Valley as all the teams feel like they've got a shot at the top. Fun for us fans, but it makes for a very challenging MVC pick 'em...cool 8-)

I'm loving catching so many Valley games on ESPN3....Rock on MVC!! :buddies:
