I have no idea where to put teams right now since there really was not much separation 2-10 this year (when was the last time a 10th place team won 6 games in this league?) and we haven't seen departures and spring signings yet.

But, I will predict that Illinois State makes the MVC Championship game and, well, history tends to repeat.

Unfortunately, this seems inevitable. The Redbirds petering out on Sunday has become part of Arch Madness tradition.

Hard to say where we'll be next year but I would say we have a great chance next year if Moser/Custer return.
-Krutwig is a stud
-Williamson is ready to step up for williamson
-I love our recruiting class
-Uguak our redshirt freshman is a secret weapon, buzz around him is VERY high, sounds like he'll be able to step in immediately for Ingram on a talent level; though his fire and swagger will be hard to replace

3. Loyola
4. Bradley
5. Valpo
6. UNI
7. Missouri State
8. Indiana State
9. Drake (Love Niko, but he'll have a very young team)
10. Evansville

Impossible to assess MSU right now until we get a coach and see what the roster ends up looking like. Things could be bad for a year, but things also could be a lot better than most would suspect. Obviously at the least we lose Johnson, Rhodes, Miller, along with Bhullar and Rousseau. The former three represent a lot of firepower. Back could be Dixon, Kreklow, Church, Scurry, and Lawrence. That represents some solid experience as 4 have starting experience and Scurry was one of the better 6th men before his injury. Add local star and Xavier transfer 6'7 Ridder and if we keep juco recruits Mohammed[ #31 ranked juco] and Geylon[ former Indiana recruit] that's a decent 7 . There's a couple other rs's to determine status on and we will have to add 3-4 players yet once we have a coach. Or ......... several others could chose to transfer and we might be turning over most of the roster. Stay tuned. But never underestimate how bad Lusk was and we could have a roster in significant flux still out perform what he was able to deliver.

MO State will be better simply because Lusk is gone.

Basketball is one of the few sports that can be turned around in a year. The right coach, and I think we will get one, will have us in the thick of things next year.
