According to reporting from channel 14 and channel 25 in Evansville, and an anonymous Twitter account @CoachingChanges, Marty Simmons is expected to formally be fired tomorrow. He was apparently informed last hour.

don't think the aces were gonna do much better than Marty...not exactly a "destination" position in mens bball.

Replacing coaches is easier said than done. Recruiting is really tough these days everywhere. I always thought Evansville was usually pretty competitive with Marty.

Hahahaha...

Beilein's kid will be in Evansville but not as the Aces coach. He's going to go some place where it's easy to win somewhere on the East Coast. He's still young and has a lot of upward mobility ahead of him...taking the Evansville job at this point is a potential dead end move.

But his LeMoyne Dolphins just won in the Sweet 16 and will be in the DII Elite 8 in Evansville.

It looks like they'll be joined with Cal Baptist (begins DI reclassification next year) and former Valley member West Texas (although that game is still going, they are up 20 at half).

Good riddance. Marty was a good person, but it’s time for a change.

In the same way that Drake was "usually pretty competitive" with Mark Phelps?

Mark Phelps MVC win %: 0.411 (5 seasons)
Marty Simmons MVC win %: 0.414 (11 seasons)
