I am just saying it is tough. Do you think the next acceptance period will be shorter(3-5 years)?

Well, I would say not necessarily get to the NCAA in 5 years, but improve every year, and get into the NIT by year 5. Would need to get to 2 or 3 in the Valley in 3 years. Now, if we get Calbert Cheaney, an Evansville native, then we may be talking about another Marty situation then. People around Eville are pretty resistant to change.

I would hope so, but I have no expectations. Everyone's first reaction to Marty being let go was surprise - everyone I spoke with expected Marty to stay since he had not been let go immediately after Arch Madness.

I do feel bad for Marty and his family. He was an Ace all the way.
Evansville people do not like change,so i believe the boosters will
push for someone with previous UE ties or Evansville ties.
Some are saying,Cheaney.I say no,he has no experience, but will
probably bring in fans and booster money.

Marty and Merf both had experience, and one had multiple NCAA appearances, including a win.

Matta turned down Georgia. I'd at least give him a call. Worst case scenario, he laughs, and you're no worse off. Best case scenario, he listens.

UE would literally be offering 10-20% of what he just turned down.

Right, but he also turned down an idiotic school and fan base that just fired a guy at a non-traditional basketball school that hadn't had a losing season in over 5 years, and had gone to the NIT or NCAA in 4 of the last 5 years.

There are jobs where one gets paid and respected. Georgia ain't one of them.

Evansville should look into Ray Harper.

Somebody, somewhere should hire Luke Yaklich.

The architect of the Redbirds stifling defense two seasons ago and ditto now at Michigan.
