FUNNEST WEEKEND SINCE 06 AT THE PALACE!!! There were more scarves and Loyola fans than orange and Vols fans. Never would’ve believed it if not for seeing it firsthand. The Tech fans, locals, and especially Florida fans rooted hard for the Ramblers. UF folks in particular loved Loyola. Any Rocky Top chant was drowned out in seconds.

Loyola’s sections were bigger and louder than Tennessee’s. Stood on their feet the entire game while UT’s mostly sat. After the buzzer sounded, an M-V-C chant broke out behind us and it was far from Loyola’s sections in 104-106.

CONGRATS to all you Loyola loyalists who stuck through the last 1-33 years. CONGRATS to the Loyola administrators and donors for bearing the fruits of their unbelievable investments. CONGRATS to the Loyola coaches, players, and helpers who worked their tail ends off to resurrect their program from the dead. You all deserve this!

What an absolute fairy tale of a weekend, on and off the court in Dallas. May Sister Jean’s magic carpet ride continue.

Congrats Ramblers on the big win over Tennessee! Intrust Bank Arena went wild when they showed the end of your game on the arena video board. They showed it live as the first game in Wichita on Saturday had just gone to half time.

Congrats Ramblers...I think I speak for a lot of fans on here who were scratching our heads a bit when you were added to replace Creighton, but in just 5 years your program has vastly exceeded expectations. From the hype they are getting in Chicago right now, the fans will follow if they continue to recruit Chicago talent and turn into a consistent contender.

Shocker fan and casual reader here for awhile. Congratulations Ramblers, and God bless Sister Jean.

Slight, almost imperceptible pattern developing here. Seems like every time a school leaves the league, another one steps up and overachieves. Creighton’s last year in the Valley was Wichita State’s F4 year, and the beginning of unprecedented success for us.

I’d have to research it more, Tulsa was the last school to leave prior to Creighton. For awhile other Valley schools seemed to have success in their wake.

And now that Wichita State has moved on, the timing was right and Loyola has seized the opportunity.

Anyway, great job by Porter Moser and the Ramblers. I still feel like every fan of the Valley does...like a champion of the underdog.

I'm glad we can all be friends and root for each other again like it was a decade ago. That wasn't always the case the last few years. If Loyola can get any sort of a foothold in Chicago with the media after this run is over that would be huge for the league (and, obviously, for them). Hope they can keep the momentum.

Congrats, Loyola. Enjoy this week. The week of media between first and second weekend is everything.

And they will get tons of extra attention from the Chicago market right now. The Bulls are terrible, the Blackhawks aren't good. The Bears stink, so everything should be focused on the Ramblers this week. Enjoy the week, and why not win another game or two while you're at it.
