Darian Devries - new Drake coach

Reports are that longtime Creighton assistant coach Darian Devries will be Drake’s new head basketball coach. He’s a UNI grad who spent time with Altman and McDermott so he knows the Valley.
Great hire in my opinion.

If nothing else, you won’t find a candidate who’d love this job more. He’s applied the last 3 or 4 times and declined overtures elsewhere. Loves the midwest. One of the longest tenured assistants being at Creighton for 20 years. Only 42. Recruited Creighton’s 5* 1st rounder a few years ago.

FWIW, Former Drake commit Messiah Jones is visiting Bradley this weekend.
