The Panthers’ three top players – junior guards Brock Stull and Jeremiah Bell and sophomore forward Bryce Nze – have all asked for and received their releases from the university in order to transfer and play elsewhere.

With sophomore guards August Haas and Jeremy Johnson also having left the program in late March, that means five scholarship players have now departed in less than a month.

Additonally, a source said that three of the four players UWM signed in the early signing period last fall also have asked to be released from their national letters of intent.

If MVC pulls trigger on 12 last spring, Milwaukee was in.

Glad we dodged that bullet. What the heck is going on over there?

I have to believe that if people were to reevaluate their votes, Belmont NKU and maybe even Murray State would probably have a few more votes at the expense of Milwaukee.

Belmont has always had the votes. Belmont isn't interested in joining the MVC.

I know. It's frustrating. What can we do to change that? Multiple bids? Another deep tourney run? Going to north and south divisions to reduce travel? Is there a scenario that the MVC can do enough to bring Belmont aboard?

Belmont would be a pretty good add, but not good enough to bend over backwards for them like the WCC is for Gonzaga.

Doubtful. Belmont is living large in the OVC.

I don't know about you guys but playing second fiddle to Murray State and missing the NIT isn't exactly my definition of living large and if I was going to do that I'd want to do so in a higher profile league. Even if they truly were living large and you know actually winning their conference Why live large in a low major league when you can live at-large in the MVC?

I'm glad the people in charge at Valpo felt the same way.

Belmont has made the NCAA Tournament 7 times since 2006 though (their only appearances). During that time Murray State only has 4 appearances.

Doesn't Murray State unlike Belmont have a tournament win during that span? How many appearances has each team made since they both were together in the OVC?
