My son & I attended the semi-finals and final of the AAC Tournament in Memphis this weekend. Saturday was a fantastic atmosphere as Memphis packed the place for their game against Houston and Wichita State had a strong presence for their game v. Cincy.

The title game between the 1 v. 2 seeds on Sunday was quite the opposite. I would honestly equate Sunday's attendance to Thursday night attendance at the MVC Tournament. Some of this may have been that both fan bases knew they would be in the NCAA Tournament this week. I think the fact that the tournament was held at a school's home arena and how spread out the conference is were major factors.

My main point for this post is not to knock the AAC, but that maybe the MVC is not as bad off as we sometimes think. That's not to say there isn't room for improvement, just not as dire. Most enjoyable were the concession prices. 25 oz. beers were $10 at FedExForum as opposed to $14.75, they still offered bottomless sodas ($7) and popcorn.
