Saw the highlights of the game and wondered why the hell they were playing Miss St in Lincoln, Nebraska? What is the story with that game being set up?

It was part of a 6 team, 3 game event. But it was a very strange group of teams. First game was two non-D1 teams, then Drake vs MSU then Nebraska vs Queens College.

Bulldogs were in a similar event last year in Atlanta vs Clemson. But that even had eight good D1 teams

UE turned a 9 point half time deficit around to beat Bellarmine 73-61. Good final non-con game.

Drake beat St. Ambrose 124-48, largest margin of victory in Drake's history.

A totally meaningless game, but a good chance to get the young guys a lot of minutes. Not like Drake was trying to run up the score. All of the starters played less than 20 minutes, and then bench outscored the starters 72-52

Just a solid workmanlike W for UNI over St Bonaventure last night. Never trailed after being down 6-3 early and were able to grind out a win against a team that plays a slow tempo. Bonaventure isn't what they have been the last couple years but they're still a decent Loyola-like middle of the pack A10 team.

UNI looked the best and most consistent they have this week in two wins and Nate Heise will be back on Wednesday which will take a lot of the pressure off some of the young guys, especially Duax, who have been playing a few more minutes than they were ready for.

Also of note, Austin Phyfe is officially not going to play this year but will apply for a 7th year next year which UNI compliance is very confident that he will get. The kid deserves to get a chance to go out getting to play. He'll also have his doctorate in Educational Leadership if he stays for another year.

The one in Atlanta was run by a big time AAU guy in Atlanta. Access to players type of thing.

The same Nebraska people who think Nebraska is going to win the national championship every year also think their arena is the best arena in North America. It was designed as a show off event for the arena. Drake-Mississippi State happened in part because Mississippi State's head coach is an Iowa native.

Indiana State about to lose to a horrible Northern Illinois team. Have to wonder if the strange game start was a factor but the Sycamores are treading a bit of water lately.

Bradley torching a solid Akron team, up 63 to 34 with 7 minutes to go in the game. It appears Drake and Bradley are the teams to beat right now.
