NIL Collective

There is discussion on the Drake board saying we can't get recruits because we have no NIL money. I am curious. do other Valley schools have NIL collectives like the power 5 schools? If so any idea what they pay? If everybody else has them it seems odd that we don't.

Bradley boosters/fans started one this year. I believe all the Bradley players have signed NIL deals. No clue what the amounts are. They've done a couple fundraiser outings and currently sell merch with players' names.

So is Bradley the only school with a collective in the Valley?

Evansville has one.

The gap between haves and have-nots grows by the day. The P5 schools have ginormous amount of money and donors to fund these things. And now even if a kid slips through to a mid-major and excels at this level, nothing stops him from immediately leaving to play right away while putting $$ in their pocket on the way out the door.

All MVC schools should have enough fan support to be able to start one of these. It's quickly becoming table stakes. It doesn't need to be huge dollar amounts either. Being in a position to offer these kids something might be the difference in a kid committing to an MVC school versus a school in another mid-major conference. Not that we'll be able to compete with the money being thrown out by P5 schools, but you hope it makes a kid think twice before transferring out purely for NIL reasons.

This is kind of what happened with Terry Robert's from Bradley from what I heard. He transferred to Georgia after having a great year at Bradley last year. It's part of the reason the Bradley NIL group Home of the Brave was formed.

We've got one that's dedicated to football but they're also helping some with a few basketball guys. It exists but I don't think the money really makes much of a difference at our level. If kids are only looking at dollars they typically aren't looking at us.

We've also got guys working with Inflcr to get 'more traditional' NIL deals. Born has deals with Pancheros, a local radio station for a pregame show and 4 or 5 other local businesses. Tytan Anderson has a deal with Cedar Valley Medical Specialists and a few others.

Terry also didn't go to class the entire second semester.

And Bradley also got Duke Deen by having some NIL money.

Seems to me this has to be reported to NCAA. Not that the NCAA really cares about the Student-Athletes, but if they did, they should know this is what the $$ is doing.
