That’s what I was thinking. I’m actually pretty impressed with the ability of the programs to rebuild as quickly as they did. Now we just need to be able to keep some guys and build on this

Murray, Belmont, Missouri State…anyone else?

UIC. 5 true freshmen. 2 transfers and 3 returnees. The program still had 4 schollies it didn't use. 2 players transferred before the season started.

What was the lowest NCAA bid that the Valley has received in recent memory when we only got 1 bid? Seems like this year we will probably be a 14 seed or so which is as bad as I can remember.

I think Bradley got a 15 when they pulled off a bunch of upsets at Arch Madness a few years back. Almost took down Michigan State that year in the first round if I remember right.

I believe you are correct Kyle.

I would say that a 11-14 seed is probable. Depends of course on a team getting hot at Arch Madness, or a team that wins conference and continues strong p!ay throughout the tournament to face the automatic bid.

Yeap, Bradley was the 5 seed in St. Louis, with star players of Darryl Brown (Junior year) and Elijah Childs (Sophomore year). They went through the gauntlet and beat Missouri State Friday, 61-58. They then upset Loyola 53-51 on Saturday, before overcoming a huge 1st half deficit to beat UNI 57-54 in the championship. They were 9-9 in MVC play, and were 20-14 heading into the NCAA tournament.

They gave #2 seed Michigan State and Big Ten player of the year Cassius Winston all they could handle in the game. Bradley led 35-34 at the half, and it was a 3 point game (MSU 58, BU 55) at the under 4 timeout in the 2nd half. Final was not as close as the game showed as MSU won 76-65. Honestly, MSU made 25-26 free throws in the game (only 12 free throws shot by MSU in last 2 minutes), and if they hadn't shot so well from the line, they very likely would have lost the game.

So, does this mean the Valley is better off with UIC than Loyola?
