Watching Northwestern in the Big Ten Tournament, the announcers were talking about Chris Lowery winning ACOY and did a segment showing a couple graphics of Lowery's effect on Northwestern's defense. Northwestern lost top players in the portal to Duke and UNC - as the UNC player stated he transferred to play in an NCAA tournament - only for Northwestern to rise to the 2-seed in the B1G and UNC to miss the Tournament.

Lowery was supposed to be assistant at Missouri St this year, but the Northwestern job opened up in the summer and Painter recommended Lowery to Collins.

Gotta think he'll land a head coaching job soon, possibly back in the MVC.

For the first time, the Big Ten Conference has awarded the Howard Moore Assistant Coach of the Year Award. The inaugural recipient is Northwestern’s Chris Lowery. A defensive specialist, Lowery helped create a drastic defensive improvement in Evanston. In his first season on the Northwestern bench, The Wildcats allowed just 62.3 points per game, 18th in the nation, down from 69.9 points a season ago. A well-respected coach throughout the conference, Lowery helped Audige earn Co-Defensive Player of the Year honors, as Northwestern won a program record 12 conference games.
