Along those lines…what if they both make the semis, and one is knocked out, and the winner of that game goes on to defeat ISUb or Drake for the bid. Does the Valley get 3 in?

Very unlikely. I'm not sure either will have a great at-large case.

IMO, Indiana State needs to beat Michigan State if it wants to be in the conversation for an at-large at the end of the season. They don't have any standout wins at this point and lost by 22 to Alabama. They're going to need a 2-3 loss MVC season to keep themselves high enough in the NET rankings that the committee can't ignore them.

Drake's win against Nevada is better than anything Indiana State has at this point, but that loss to SFA might come back to haunt them. They can't slip up at UAB (and UAB isn't having a great season). But really, their nonconference schedule isn't loaded, either. Drake also needs a 2-3 loss MVC to be in the discussion.

I think both Drake and ISU are good teams that could win games in the NCAA tournament with the right matchups, but there isn't a lot of meat on their schedules.

They lost to Alabama without Avila. That does come into factor but idk how much
Their Schedule:
Alabama - Quad 1
IUPUI - Quad 4
Rice - Quad 4
Pepperdine - Quad 4
Toledo - Quad 2
SIU - Quad 3
Bradley - Quad 2
NIU - Quad 3
USI - Quad 4
Ball State - Quad 4
Tennessee State - Quad 4
Michigan State - Quad 1

So yeah the biggest thing would be need Drake to keep winning. Beat Michigan State. Split with Drake and get to championship. That's probably best case. Then if other Valley teams can crack the top 75 in Net that's a Quad 1 opportunity on the road. So still some work to do.

in a game much closer than the final score indicates Indiana State beat Tennessee State 90-69

TSU led by 3 at times in the 2nd half, but ISU put on a run and pulled away late.

Good win heading into the big showdown with Michigan State on the 30th

Drake beat Alcorn State 92-55, playing without Tucker DeVries. And, Conor Enright went out with an injury 7 minutes into the game.

Of course, no report on the status of either player.

Atin Wright with 24 points, 4 assists, 4 steals for Drake.
Kyron Gibson with 19 off the bench.
Carlos Rosario with 10 off the bench.
Brodie with 12 rebounds.

Bears take down Lindenwood 79-57 at the GSB Arena. Bears led by 18 at half and it got as high as 25 . Alston Mason paced the Bears with 34 pts, 7 assists vs 1 turnover , + 5rbs. NJ Bensen had a double/double with 17 pts, 12rbs, 2 blks. Chance Moore just missed a double/double with 9 pts and 15 rbs. Next we play @ St Mary's on Friday nite; not been a good place for us the last two times we went there..

Salukis looked pretty good in their 13-point home win over North Dakota St.

Another ho hum 25 points for Xavier Johnson. Bigs Jarrett Hensley and Scottie Ebube both scored in double figures off the bench, and Trent Brown hit a couple timely second half 3s to keep the Bison from mounting much of a rally.

With Hensley in the mix now and starter AJ Ferguson nearing his return from injury, the depth is quite promising and Mullins’ rotation decisions are going to get interesting for conference play, which revs up after playing Southern Indiana on Friday.

Someone said no way in hell MVC gets 3 bids,I say no way in hell the league gets 2 bids.NCAA has made the Tournament to keep the Mid Majirs from being a 2 bid league, hell it will be hard for the Valley to get a NIT bid from now on.

If the season ended today, Indiana State would go NCAA and Drake would get into the NIT. This is based off NET rankings which is what the NCAA takes into consideration. Those would be the only two teams at this point. I am assuming Indiana State would get the auto big by winning STL but their Top 20 NET would put them in. That will likely fall assuming they lose some conference games but no doubt they have been playing well. To get an at large to the NIT likely takes a Top 70 NET rankings. You want to be Top 60 as a mid to feel more comfortable.

The Mountain West Conference had four teams in all the way back in 2022-23.
