Watched the end of the Evansville game. Sorry guys... having to lose two games in a row at the buzzer.

The clock issue at the end was interesting. It stopped for some reason (timeout? whistle?) with 0.6 seconds left before the shot went through. After watching the replay, if the clock hadn't stopped time would have ran out when the ball went through the net. All very interesting.

Evansville has players doing things that we have not seen in years. Yes, losing 2 in a row at the buzzer stings, but this team, with Humrichous, is competing with the best of the MVC. Can't ask for more than that at this stage.

I was real impressed with Evansville. Your coach really has these guys playing well and believing in themselves. Both 3's UE hit in the last 15 seconds were with pretty good defense.

Bulldogs didn't bring their A-game, thank goodness that Atin Wright did. 24 points for him in the second half, including 19 in the last 9.5 minutes, including the game winner.

I agree, but Drake not having their A game was somewhat due to the Aces strategy. They doubled up on Brodie, causing him to have 4 TOs and not be the same dominant factor inside he has been against UE the past 4 years. DeVries was clearly not as sharp on his 3s as usual, but he made up for it with 10 Rebs.

Aside from the last second loss, the biggest disappointment for me, was the small crowd. It was pathetic for Evansville. It was below the season average. Drake is one of the best teams in the MVC over the past few years. That should have brought in at least 5K-6K. Not sure why the game was not promoted more.

This week's games should provide us all with our annual reminder that successful teams (especially mid-majors) without depth tend to have a seemingly inexplicable loss or two in the stretch run.

It's hard to win 80%+ of your games when you only play seven and your guards get 30-35 minutes per game. The conference grind is real.

Great point.

Dana Ford apparently wants no part of the 8/9 Thursday noon game, as he’s trying everything to procure the 10-seed down double digits at home against Valpo.

Absolutely HORRIBLE coaching by Powell of Valpo. Horrible. He should have called a TO after that screw up by DeAveiro when they were still up by 4. You have got to settle down the team. Instead he let them play against a seasoned MSU team who took them to school the last 3+ minutes.

Yea, that was a terrible final 7:48 where they scored only 2 points with 0:03 left when the game was over was sad. The forgetting the shot clock was unforgivable. They tried, they gave effort, but the talent is lacking and tonight at least, the coaching left a lot to be desired. Note to Valpo, practice against the full court trap and pressure, you’ll see it again since it was handled sooo poorly.
