Drake loading up its roster with McCollum's DII guys. It worked a bit for Schertz, can it work for McCollum too?

Bowen Born is in the portal.

He was doing PR work for UNI 3 days ago. Somebody came with a check.

I officially hate NIL. Every player at a Big ten school is getting a six figure deal nowadays, and some are getting a lot more. Where will it end?

When the ROI isn't there.

I do think that there is some sticker shock at the moment because it's still relatively new in the college game, but I also think that these type of players have been generating tons of money and are now being compensated for it, at least partially. I can't blame guys in the MVC or anywhere else for trying to get money they otherwise never would see. Let's not forget that while the vast majority of college players are unlikely to be NBA-level talent, they're in the top echelon of players in the world.

Does it take some of the romanticism of college sports away? Absolutely and that's a tough pill for a lot of folks to swallow. Combined with the transfer rules, it is a lot to process at one time.

SIU's Trey Miller has withdrawn from the transfer portal and will remain at Southern.

Wasn't a huge piece last season. But it's good to see a little bit of momentum forming in Carbondale as to putting a roster together.

Former Murray State Racer Sam Murray II commits to play at Missouri State for Cuonzo Martin. Murray originally had an offer from Martin when he was at Mizzou. Pretty highly touted coming out of high school but didn't see many minutes or success in his two season at Murray State. Maybe Racer fans can elaborate on what they saw out of him.

A fresh start with Cuonzo might be just what he needs. Regardless, Bears need roster spots to fill and there's nothing wrong with adding someone like Sam Murray II who is both talented and experienced, regardless of the lack of results he's produced so far. Interested to see what other recruits Cuonzo targets over the next few weeks.

For those who want a break from the barrage of who is transferring where, here is a message from a guy who stayed for five years. You can see why Bryan Mullins loved/loves this kid.

Ben Schwieger of Loyola to UNI.

He's the exact player you'd expect UNI to recruit.

As Bryan Mullins put it, character counts. Trent Brown is a shining example of that, he is truly a class act.

Seems like a perfect fit for UNI who has some success in the A10 as a freshman!
