7 MVC men qualify for NCAA Track Championships

the NCAA track meet is June 6-9th in Eugene, Oregon, 7 MVC men advanced to the meet.

Illinois State

Jaylan McConico - 110 meter hurdles

Anderson Devonish - 400 meters

Loyola

Kevin White - 1500 meters

Northern Iowa

Jacob Smith - 40 meter hurdles

Southern Illinois

Jared Kern - Shot Put

Warren Hazel - 400 meters

Rickey Hurley - Hammer Throw

the men's NCAA Track meet starts Weds. night, I believe it's on ESPN2 starting at 630 central time

Only Jacob Smith of UNI advanced to the finals for the MVC men at the NCAA meet. He will run in the 400 meter finals tomorrow.

No other MVC men scored last night

Actually Jason Kern of my SIU Salukis made the Finals in the Shot and threw 65'5.5" for I believe ninth

I saw he made the finals, was hoping that throw would hold on for 8th and score a point, but he barely got beat out for the last scoring spot.

Jacob Smith from UNI placed 6th in the 400 meter hurdles last night, running 50.60

He was the only MVC male athlete to score at the meet, kind of a down year for the MVC men and women at the meet, we didn't have any women qualify
