VB 2013

Shocks are the team to beat, no doubt. Look at all that coming back, and all that that was in the stalls!

And, there's no dreaded Blue Jays.

So, why can't WSU just walk all over the MVC and win conference and tournament?

Well....

I am hard-pressed to say why they cannot do that. SIU has some talent. Illinois St too. Drake is a sleeper. MSU has some returning seniors. UNI has been the standard-bearer for the conference for years on end. But none of those teams comes close to the kill-joy ability of Wichita. I mean, comeon....Chelsey freakkin Feekin!
How do you lose with a name like that?

"With my name in my eyebrow, that's how."

I think the Shocks should be the favorite but I'm not expecting them to just walk over the rest of the league.

No doubt Feekin is a stud and Lambo is super-complimentary of her. We are about as solid as you can be in the middle with Andrade and Field.

We do have questions to answer on the pins and with our defensive specialists. On the pins can Senior Sam Sanders make it through a season injury-free and can our youngsters Reilly, Driskill and Dudzinski step it up.

Defensively we are breaking in players that are still learning their craft in Hinkle, Urban and Mostram. While all 5 of our incoming freshman are expected to redshirt word is that one of them, Alyssa Carney is showing a lot of skill as a defensive specialist and could play this year. In any case, not a lot of experience at a position the Shocks consider very important.

I expect UNI to be good as always and MSU and ILS are very experienced teams. Experience in VB is a very valuable commodity. It will be interesting to see if SIU continues its growth as a program under Coach Ingram.

I see MSU as the sleeper. They are very experienced and getting Karen Rivatto back plus the addition of 6-3 OH Kayla Walton, a senior transfer from South Florida, should give MSU a big boost.

I predict WSU, MSU and UNI will make the NCAA Tournament this year if they all can avoid any key injuries.
