Creighton beats Drake 3-1, and Illinois State beats MSU 3-1. The Bears might be wishing they had this one back when the selections are announced.

CU plays WSU and IlSU plays UNI in the Semis tomorrow.

SEMIFINAL #1 (Nov. 26) - Creighton advanced to its first-ever State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Volleyball Championship with a 3-1 win over second-seeded Wichita State in the first semifinal Friday night at the McLeod Center.

SEMIFINAL #2 (Nov. 26) - The Panthers marched out to 4-0 lead in the second stanza, but the Redbirds kept it close for the first half of the second set, pulling to within two points on three separate occasions (3-5, 9-11 and 10-12). With Illinois State trailing 13-17, UNI's Michelle Burow served six-straight points to extend the Panthers' lead to 10 points, at 23-13. The two teams traded points to finish out the set, with UNI closing out a 25-16 set-two win.

I would be quite surprised if they don't host. But nothing is guaranteed, since the NCAA determines host sites in such a way as to try and minimize the number of flights (trips over 400 miles) that they have to pay for.

UNI deserves to host, and congrats to UNI for a fantastic year. Hope you keep it going. Maybe Valley members 2-4 are weaker than normal, but I don't recall a more dominating team in recent history. Sure hope, and expect, CU and WSU to make tourney as well. Bears are kinda shaky about getting in.
