UNI ends one of the greatest seasons in MVC volleyball history with a 30-3 record losing a 5 set match to Missouri tonight in Cedar Falls.

Not the results we were looking for obviously. Hopefully this doesn't effect things in the future when trying to get more than a couple if bids. It shouldn't because womens sports are so dominated by the bigger schools it isn't even funny and these things happen

NCAA Tournament volleyball recaps:

CREIGHTON 3, No. 16 IOWA STATE 2

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The first NCAA Tournament volleyball match in Creighton history was one for the ages, as the Jays used career-nights from Karisa Almgren and Heather Thorson to post a 3-2 victory over No. 16 Iowa State. Scores of the match, played at the University of Minnesota's Sports Pavilion, favored Creighton 27-25, 16-25, 25-23, 19-25, 15-11.

Creighton is now 21-11 on the year, matching a modern record for wins in a season. Iowa State, which had reached three consecutive Sweet 16's, had its season end with a 20-9 mark.

Good showing. It'd be nice if BU can finally become competitive in volleyball since the MVC is a fairly well respected league nationally.

BU hired their new coach yesterday, Jenny Maurer from Lehigh. While her DI record is below .500 she did have an astounding prep record and she took over a winless non-scholly program and improved W-L each of her 3 seasons there, capping with a .500 mark this season.

So while on the surface the hire may seem underwhelming, it could be a cheap, effective hire.

Time will tell.
