2017 outdoor NCAA Track meet June 7-10

the east and west regional track meets are done, up next is the NCAA outdoor track and field meet out in Oregon June 7-10

The MVC had a down year as far as the number of qualifiers for the meet. We only had 14 make it this year, that is down significantly from recent years.

The meet will be on ESPN3 and other espn channels, will know more the week of the meet

Hunter Veith - Decathlon
Gavyn Yetter - Heptathlon
Nikki Larch-Miller - Heptathlon
Breanne Borman - Heptathlon

Indiana State
David Timlin - 1500 meters
Alethia Marrero - 800 meters
Marcus Neely - 110 meter hurdles
Taylor Austin - steeplechase

Southern Illinois
Freya Block - Hammer Throw
Warren Hazel - 400 meters
Kyle Landon - High Jump

Drake
Reid Fischer - 10,000 meters

Northern Iowa
Brandon Carnes - 100 meters

Bradley
Daniel Gagne - 1500 meters

The men kick things off tonight out in Oregon for the NCAA Track meet, the women start competing tomorrow (Thursday)

the meet starts out each day on espn3, then switches to either ESPNU, ESPN2, or ESPN later in the afternoon.

for the women today,

SIU's Freya Block led the way for the MVC women, placing 7th in the Hammer Throw.

Indiana State's Taylor Austin wound up 18th in the steeple, earning honorable mention all american

Indiana State's Alethia Marrero was 24th in the 800, earning honorable mention all american.

Borman and Yetter finished 11th and 12th for WSU in the Heptathlon, Nikki Larch-Miller dropped out.

So the WSU era in the MVC is now officially over

Southern Illinois was the only MVC team to score for the women, placing in a tie for 62nd.
