Indiana State women defeat SIU on the road with a 48-42 win to improve to 11-9 and 5-4 in the MVC. This is ISU's second road win in a row.

Hello Missouri Valley Fans, I'm new here to this board but am also interested in womens basketball. I definatly think the conference as a whole has been a lot better since previous years. I also think that Illinois States womens team is still the team to beat. They had a three game conference losing streak but are the only team to beat UNI in conference play. Emily Hanley IMO is the best post player in the whole conference. I think the conference title is a race between Creighton, Northern Iowa, Missouri State, and Illinois State. I might be wrong but i guess this will make things all the more interesting come tournament time.

2. Creighton 9-2(15-7)
3. Illinois State 7-3(15-6)
4. Missouri State 7-4(16-7)
5. Indiana State 5-5(11-10)
6. Drake 5-6(11-11)
7. Wichita State 5-6(11-11)
8. Bradley 4-7(11-11)
9. Evansville 2-9(7-15)
10. Southern Illinois 0-11(2-20)

Charlie Creme of ESPN has Northern Iowa being the Valleys only bid as a 13 seed playing Georgetown.
Also have Missouri State in the "first four out" category.

As of right now it seems like the MVC is a four team race as I can see any of the four winning in Missouri come March. Conference placing really is a huge deal for the conference come NCAA tournament time. If our first place team comes in at a 13 seed, I cant imagine what our 2-10 teams would come in at. A lot of games to go so a lot of things can change.

MVC player of the year?
Coach of the year?

Disappointing for the Lady Bears so far. We expected to win the conference this year. I think we were picked for 1st but I can't find anything because the new Valley website is so jacked up.

There has been a lot of talk about people not happy with Nia Millieson but how do you get rid of a coach that has turned the program around like she has? You can't. But if she doesn't get back to the Dance with this core group of young players, she could be in trouble.

the new format does have some bugs to work out, sure.
But I was able to find it without too much trouble.

UNI hosts CU on thursday. If UNI can win that one, the title race might be over.

there will still be 6 games left to play after Thursday (7 for some).
So while a win over the Bluejays would give the Panthers some breathing room, I don't know if I'd be comfortable saying that the title race was "over". Too much season left to get overly comfortable.

Debate on BearNation is whether or not Milleson's seat is starting to get hot...This has been a rather pathetic year...Considering what was expected...
