Very good pick up for the Bears!

From ESPN: 88 rating, 3 Stars, #58 PF
April, 2010: Kirk is a bouncy, north/south athlete. Christian is at his best when he is finishing off dribble penetration passes from his teammates or rim runs in transition with gruesome one handed dunks off two feet. He rebounds the ball on the defensive end at the highest point and throws good outlet passes to his guards. In the post, Christian likes to keep his pivot long. From the left block, he likes to spin baseline and finish on the other side of the rim with a right hand lay-up. When smaller defenders guard him, Christian likes to use the bounce to back defenders down so he may score over the top of them in the lane. If he is matched up against bigger defenders, Christian needs angles to score and struggles scoring over them with a post move. Christian is going to have to develop a consistent, fifteen foot jump shot for the college game because he is not always going to be the biggest player on the floor.

According to several different recruiting sites, Kirk had offers from MSU, Creighton, Iowa, SIU, Butler, Murray State and SLU. Sounds like a very nice get for the Bears.

They have updated their rating to a 90 on Christian, and said he will be an All-Valley player FWIW.

Bottom Line:
Christian is an excellent get for Missouri State and the MVC. His versatility will be a huge factor in getting him minutes as a freshman. Should be an All-League player down the road.

He is now a 3* by ESPN, Rivals, and Scout. As we know, that promise nothing, but it does tell us something; this young man is a highly regarded recruit by many sources. We can assume that many coaches feel the same.

Kirk was one of the coaches' top targets, but we'll see how his career plays out. His brother and sister both played at MSU as well.

Looks like he transferred schools and didn't meet Missouri's requirements to not have to sit out.

Kirks father lives in Springfield and mother lives in St Charles (married couple). Played at Kickapoo Freshman year and St Charles West sophomore and Junior years. Moved back to Springfield for Senior year (father has health issues). St Charles claimed it was for Basketball purposes causing MSHSAA to rule him ineligible. Ruling was that he wasn't transferring for athletic reasons but didn't meet hardship requirements. How a kid living with a parent in that school district could be ruled ineligible is perplexing.
