JUCO SG Ron MVOUIKA verbals to Missouri State

Postby BEARZ77 » March 26th, 2013, 11:44 am

Bears receive a verbal from 6'5 shooting guard Ron Mvouika, from Sheridan College in Wyoming. Mvouika who is from Paris France originally played at prep powerhouse Huntington Prep before heading to Sheridan , where this year as a sophmore he averaged 19.3 ppg,8.3 rbs, shooting 48% fg and 38% from 3pt.

Bears have one more scholy to give this spring and have targeted several 4/5 options they are still pursuing.

From what I have read up on this kid he seems like the real deal. I love bigger guards and judging by those rebounding stats, he is not afraid to mix it up on the boards. By all accounts a very, very nice get.

Very good recruit for us. Now if we can just get a 4/5 with some decent size I think we can really compete at a high level again.

MSU has not had a good big guy since Don Analieck (sp ??) sinc the early 50s NAIA Champs. Need to go get a 6-9 or 6-10, or bigger horse in the middle. A bunch of 6-3 or 4 guys from Marshfield, Nixa, Republic or ????? just don't cut it anymore. Ever since Spoonhour started a 5-5 guard 15 or so years ago MSU has teamed up a bunch of midgets. Go international if necessary. Sign up with a recruiting service to ID one, 2 or 3 good big guys.

Obviously you slept thru the sweet 16 season and 6'11 Danny Moore's 3 years.

I was out of the net for a long time (21 years) wearing green. Did not see the S16 team or Denny Moore. Have not seen him mentioned in Bears BB history. Regardless, need to now get a couple of BIG BOYS to be competitive at any level. Need some bangers!!

Agrinut? Do not understand your meaning. Who areyou saying is confusing MSU with the Kangroos. I was talking about SMS (now Missouri State U). SMS (MSU) was the NAIA back to back champs in 1952 and 53, and third in 1954. After 54 they continued in NCAA Small College and appeared in 3 or 4 NCAA Small College Championship game. I was sitting in a bunker in Vietnam in 1967 tying to get the score of the SMS VS WInston Salem with future NBA player Earl The Pearl Monroe. WS won--Monroe was tournament most valuable.
