Absolutely not, and it's pretty much a no-lose situation for UNI. Maybe he fixes whatever has been holding him back and becomes what he was thought to be as a HS recruit. Worse case scenario he's a JUCO flop that sits on the bench and doesn't contribute anything for two seasons. Low risk, high ceiling pickup for UNI.

And that's all I'm saying.

For the record, as an FSU alumni who follows the ACC as closely as the MVC, I've likely seen far more of this kid than any UNI fan has. And he seems to be a very smart and solid defensive player. Not a lock-down defender, but very good at knowing where to be within a defensive scheme at all times. He's always seemed invisible on the offensive end, though.

My prediction is that he'll be a very smart defender who will be a good three point specialist, and probably shoot near 40% from the perimeter with about 8 ppg over his time at UNI. He'll be a solid contributor. And if he does so, having that fall into your lap is awesome. But the theme from UNI fans in this thread seems to be that he's going to be an elite player out of the gate, and I do not see that happening.
