The 6'5" PG committed to WSU today. Arkansas fans on their board say he has yet to receive a qualifying score on the ACT.

Some notable numbers from his senior season so far:

38 ppg (supposedly leads the nation), 11 rpg, 5 apg
Scored 73 in a 3-OT game.
Scored 191 points over four games in a tournament.

The latest commit to the Shockers shows some athleticism. He's still young and growing.

Just a little update on Austin. He scored 57 points at Cedar Ridge's opening state playoff game. The opposing team scored 59 points. Cedar Ridge scored in the mid 80's (maybe 86 or so).

Shockers got the LOI as expected. We won't see him on the floor until August -- possibly for an international tour -- due to shoulder surgery (non-shooting shoulder).

I really am unsure what to think of this kid. He could be a bust, or all conference, or a super star. I just don't know. I would be interested in what the other Valley Board Members think. The following is the location of a pretty thorough mix tape for him-https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FwTa2-SKkAs
He comes from a basketball background as both played D1. His dad was a PG and leading assist man at Arkansas State. His mom pushes 6 feet and was the national JC leading scorer and an all Sun Belt conference player at 20+ per game. He just might grow a little more.
Obviously he jumps well, shoots from 3 pretty good, is an extremely good ball handler, and can really score at that level. Likewise he looks very young and he needs to get bigger and stronger (common result at WSU with their weight program) and will need to adjust his game somewhat to score inside against bigger and more athletic players. It might just depend on he handles the intensity of WSU's practices as they are not for everyone.
What does the rest of the Board think?

Remember how he was made out to be the second coming of Baker coming in . Granted injuries have curtailed him some, but he had a relatively healthy sophomore year: averaged 8ppg shot 42% from trey and started 12 games. Decent but hardly phenome level. Now it makes sense why Marshall has seemingly offered every moving body in this springs recruiting class group. They have some talent coming in and I'm sure will sign some quality yet this spring and summer, but they've missed on a lot of their top targets and will have a lot of moving parts to assemble into a cohesive group come next fall. But Marshall's good, so we'll see how much drop off they have. Might be a case of missing the previous all star assistant coaching staff which has slowly been broken up if things are less Shocker-like this coming year.

The Shox will return 14 ppg next season. I don't care how good his recruits are...it's going to be a struggle.

Reaves is visiting UNI tomorrow. Hopefully we can get him in the Valley!
