UNI got a commitment from 2023 6-6 F Kyle Pock from Bolivar, MO.

Ranked the number 2 player in Missouri by most services and a consensus 3 star recruit. Averaged 21 and 8 last year for his HS team and was first team Class 5A All State.

Picked UNI over Princeton, South Dakota State, Indiana State, Lipscomb and (probably?) Missouri State.

Joins Grand Blanc, MI PG RJ Taylor in UNIs 2023 class. UNI has one scholarship remaining in that class.

If there was ever a kid who LOOKED like a UNI recruit out of central casting it's this guy :)

There’s a lot of chatter about this over on the Bear boards.

He’ll do well in Jake’s system, I think.

He supposedly wanted to be a Bear and they were one of his first offers. His high school is just about a half hour north of campus. Ford backed off on him though, and you’ll notice that he didn’t take a Missouri state visit recently.

Bear fans reactions to this are pretty mixed. Some who have seen him play a lot understand Fords thought process on Pocks development, others like his game and the fact that he is local.

I would have liked to take him, given the fact that he’s obviously local and no doubt has DI level skill. But I do trust Ford and staff to evaluate things on their own.

They have been burned on the last two local products they have taken in Ridder (who never panned out, and stepped away from basketball) and Issac Haney (who left after a year for Northwestern State).
