ISU looking good in their season opener beating St. Joseph's 57-7. The running game looked outstanding as Gates and Bell rushed for over 100 yards a piece and combined for 4 TDs. The Sycamores offense moved the ball with ease gaining 514 total yards, 395 of which were on the ground. ISU's defense shut down the Pumas offense only giving up 242 yards and 11 first downs, and special teams blocked a punt and recovered it for a TD..
ISU looks much improved from a season ago. Hopefully we can play this way throughout the entire season.

Yes, it was an impressive performance by the Sycamores. Next Saturday's game at Cincinnati will be a true test of the improvement of the Sycs. It was nice to see an O-line that could open holes for the backs and protect the QB, receivers run good routes and catch the ball, backs that could find the holes and follow the blocks and a QB that is actually is a QB.
