I have to be frank and say that Indiana State would be the fifth FBS team in a state that produces very few D1 football players. I struggle to see the growth potential there for ISUBlue. Could happen but would take big time effort on everybody's part.
Casey, you're right, there isn't much D-I football talent produced in Indiana. That is another reason why you'll probably never see the Sycamores play I-A football.
But Golden is right, sometime soon there is going to be a split again in college football, and only the top 5 BCS conferences will be able to play for the national title. There will be 3 tiers of college FB, the BCS 5, then the others (MAC, Sunbelt, C-USA, etc....) and the current I-AA teams.
The teams moving up NOW are the teams trying to avoid getting left behind in tier 3, which is going to happen to the MVFC schools who do not move soon.
