Not an overly huge fan of FCS football although I try to support the Bears despite years of futility. Obviously things got a little more interesting with the signing of Petrino. To that end, today the Bears got a commitment from QB Jaden Johnson, a redshirt from Southern Mississippi. Kid had committed to Louisville under Petrino, then backed out and signed with Southern Miss when Petrino left Louisville. He rs as a freshman , and will be immediately eligible with 4 years. He was a ESPN 4**** , 247/Rivals 3*** and the 20th ranked QB in the country coming out of HS.He goes 6'2, 208.

Like I said, things got a little more interesting with Petrino; who knows we might actually win a couple games at some point.

Well, it's obviously a very strange year in FCS football, so it's hard to make declarative statements, but Bears getting a quick return on the Bobby Petrino hire. Go into UNI and beat current #10 UNI for the first time in a couple decades; that's a second straight road upset of a ranked team, 3 straight road wins, and a 3-1 conference record. Surprisingly, it's the Bear's defense not offense that has shown under the noted offensiive/QB guru. For the first time in eons, Bears looking to be a real pain in the arse in MVC football.

Getting pretty damned interesting; Bears knock off 3rd straight ranked opponent in SIU. Now 4-1 in MVC Football and in pursuit of a playoff spot. Bobby Effing Petrino !!

It’s amazing what a coach can do at this level. 30 years of pain and now we resemble what looks to be a squad getting better and winning games.

How long is Bobby sticking around? That kid going to follow him to his next gig? We'll see.

6'2 208 a little light compared to what UNI, SDSU, NDSU bring in.

At 5-2 in MVC (6-3 overall), If we can just beat UNI on the 13th and then take care of business at Dixie State the following week, MSU will be sitting pretty for the post-season.

Update: 6-2 in MVC (7-3 overall) and ready to host the 1st playoff game since 1990!

Petrino strikes again!!

"A Big Ten quarterback announced on Wednesday night that he will continue his football career at Missouri State.
Jacob Clark, who has served as a Minnesota backup quarterback in recent seasons, tweeted that he is eager to start his journey as a Bear."

He had a lot of P5 & G5 offers out of high school. Looks like Minnesota's QB1 elected to come back for his 6th year so Clark and another QB (Annexstad) bolted. Annexstad landed at Illinois State.
