I'd all but guarantee that was from Marshall because there is no way in hell he'd ever vote for Muller with the history between those two.

I don't think it was Marshall or Muller who voted for Jake. I do think it was someone for Wichita though. Someone also gave Muller a 3rd place vote. There's really only one team with enough dislike for ISU to do that. It's likely in coming up with 2 other names to put in front of Dan, that they went with Jake. Since they couldn't vote Marshall first and wanted Muller not to have their first place vote, someone else had to get it. Wichitas beat writer admitted to doing that last year by giving Brian Wardle a vote. Seems likely here again giving the vote to someone who he knew wouldn't win.[/quote]
Wichitas beat writer voted for Muller. He released his ballot. Frankly I think all ballots should be public. Would help prevent this type of stuff.

WSU decided to award Gregg Marshall with the $25K bonus in his contract had he won the award. A gesture of thanks from the Wichita State administration, though not particularly extravagant compared to his $3M salary.

Given that the balloting produced a virtual tie, this is a nice and smart gesture.

Combined with the COY debacle last year that was even closer, yes, it's a very good gesture to celebrate the job he did this year.

So sad seeing Doyle struggle like that. Especially given a really great season overall. The pieces we bring in next year as well as new on court leadership that we will see should be fun to watch. Best of luck to everyone's teams the rest of the way!
